Adult Coed Soccer

Pacific Soccer Association 2016 Coed Soccer Rules

  1. PSA coed soccer is an adult league. No players under the age of 21 years old (Must be 21 by July 31st) are permitted to participate in play. All players are required to be on a roster and complete a player waiver and release form. Unrostered players are not allowed to participate.
  2. Each team can carry up to 14 players on their roster with a minimum of 11 players. It is suggested to carry 7 males and 5 females to ensure you can field a team every week.
  3. A team must have 5 players at the start of the game to play, one must be female. Failure to have 5 players (including one female) within 10 minutes of the schedule kickoff time will result in a forfeiture of the match.
  4. Each team must field 3 female players as part of their 8 players on the field. If a team is unable to field 3 female players, then they must reduce one male player for each missing female player. With that said, if both teams are short female(s) and both teams agree, then they both can play with an extra male on the field.
  5. Females are allowed to play goalkeeper, but such a player is not counted as a female player on the field.
  6. All players must wear shinguards covered by socks and the team must wear the same color shirts. If a player does not have shinguards, they are not allowed to play. If there is a conflict in shirt color, the home team will change shirt colors or wear pennies. Goalkeepers must wear a jersey that is not a similar color to that of either team on the field. No metal cleats are allowed.
  7. A player may only be listed on one team’s roster, there will be no dual-rosters, no exceptions.
  8. Match duration will consist of two 30-minute halves, plus a 5 minute half-time.
  9. Teams may sub on the fly at any time. The player leaving the field must be completely off the field before a new player enters the field. Players must sub from the middle line.
  10. “LIVE RULE” in effect, a female player must touch the ball on the offensive half in order for a goal to be scored.
  11. All FIFA Laws of the Game pertain to 8vs8 coed matches with the exception of slide tackling. Slide tackling is prohibited in all matches. Further clarification: A player may slide to make a play on the ball, provided there are no other players within playing distance of the ball. It is at the discretion of the referee whether another player is within playing distance of the ball when a slide tackle is taken.
  12. As defined by the Laws of the Game with regards to fouls and misconduct, a yellow card is a caution and a red card is a send-off offense.
    1. A player that receives a second caution (yellow card) in a single match is a send-off. Two yellows equal a red.
    2. Send-off offenses (red card) or (2 yellows) will automatically bring a minimum suspension of at least one match. The PSA Board will evaluate each offense and determine the length of each suspension.
    3. A player caught playing under suspension will receive an additional four week suspensions and that player’s team will forfeit any matches that the player has played in while suspended.
    4. Players ejected by send-off offenses, must leave the Liberty Field immediately. Failure to leave the fields could result in additional suspension. Match will not resume until the player has left Liberty Field.
  13. Fighting will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate explosion from the league.
  14. Referee abuse whether verbal or physical will not be tolerated and is grounds for expulsion of the league.
  15. If you are on a roster playing coed you assume all liabilities for personal injury.
